NGER Act 2007 - Obligations for Local Government

The comment period is open on a draft Used Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme. MWAC will be making a submission, to contribute please forward comments by 4 July 2008.
Household Hazardous Waste Program
Funding for the Household Hazardous Waste Program was granted by the Hon David Templeman MLA Minister for the Environment; Climate Change; Peel in August 2007. The Program will consist of the collection, storage and disposal of house hold hazardous waste with the aim of achieving the safe and certain storage and disposal of such waste in Western Australia, whilst obtaining data on the quantities and types of HHW collected in WA. The program also aims to establish new HHW Storage Facilities, or upgrade existing facilities to ensure that they comply with draft DEC Guidelines for the Collection and Storage of HHW material.
